The number of the day...
...is the inflation in Zimbabwe, thought to be, hold on, yes: 50,000%!!! If there is a Nobel Price for totally killing an economy, I think the animated and all round crazy Robert Mugabe should be pretty high up on the short list.
According to The Economist the government has stopped counting the inflation (yes, the 50,000% is just a ball park figure, so don't get all upset if the actual number is a mere 42,000%), it's just lost all it's fun. And seriously, who can blame them?
Luckily for the ruling party, democracy is only something exotic that people read about in books (those that can read, that is) and not anything remotely connected to reality in a country which not too long ago was considered to be a role model for many other countries in the region. I would like to see the party going into an election trying to explain that inflation number, Bush got nothing on this man!
